Our Father,

Everyone wants to believe in God when it is easy and when everything is amazing, but most quit when things get rough. People don’t want to believe things when they don’t have proof, but when it is right in front of them, they don’t want to see it.

John 20:24-27 NIV

24). Now Thomas (Also known as Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. 25). So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”

But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

26). A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” 27). Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”

God is an amazing Father that loves us more than anything. he even sacrificed his one and only son so we can live for eternity in an amazing afterlife.

John 3:16 NIV

16). For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

So many people lose out from the greatest gift God gave us because they are afraid or just to stubborn to change their life to fit him in it. I guess I am one of the lucky ones that never once in my life had to not know him. I understand that it is hard to change your life, but so many people loose out on the greatest gift he has to offer.

What is that greatest gift you might ask? I know this sounds cheesy, or delusional, but his greatest gift is his eternal love. I know you probably think I am just another God freak, not that that is a bad thing, but don’t judge me until you here my story.

When I was not even a few months old my mother married a man that would change my life forever. He manipulated my mother to stay with him. As with most abuse, things weren’t bad at first. He had to find a way to get her to never leave him. So eventually my younger sister came into the picture.

This caused things to change. Now because I was so young, and my step dad convinced my mother to keep the fathers of my older brother and I a secret. So, until the end we thought he was our real dad. I was daddy’s little girl until he had a daughter of his own flesh, and blood. Growing up things only got worse he abused us in multiple ways.

The only thing that got me through the though times was my Lord and Savior. See instead of blaming my God for the tragedy that I was going through, I look at him for comfort. I understand that because I was still a child myself that it didn’t make it hard to be a child of the Lord, but you don’t have to be a child to seek comfort in something greater than us.

I know that some people wonder how there could possibly be a God when there is so much hate and tragedy in the world, but most people forget that God gave us another amazing gift called free will. I mean have you seen any of those movies where there is no free will, but everything is fine and dandy until it is not.

God knew the all the possibilities of giving us free will, but he gave it to us anyway because he wanted us to be happy and not miserable. It was us that caused sin not God.

Genesis 3: 1-6 NIV

1). Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”

2). The woman said to the serpent, “we may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3). but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.'”

4). “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5). “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.

6). When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

God loved Adam and Eve so much that instead of death like he originally said he found another punishment for them.

We can also think of it in anther scenario to help better understand the situation.

A Father decided to make a batch of cookies for his family to enjoy after supper to celebrate good reports cards. He noticed her eight-year-old daughter Susie eyeing them from afar. He told her not eat them because they were for after supper. Later when the Father came back to put the cookies up after they had cooled off, but instead of the cookies he found Susie with chocolate on her face trying to hide.

Now in this scenario would you blame the Father for his child’s disobedience. No, so why do so many people blame our Father for our disobedience. Don’t miss out on our Father’s love because he wants to be there for you. Like most parents God is never going to put us through anything we can handle, and he might not always answer our prayers right away because he lets us go through things that will make us become a stronger and better person.

So why do we believe when there is hate in the world? The reason is because God isn’t the one who put it in the world we are, but he is there for us to come to seek guidance, love, comfort, and anything else we are needing.
